Just in the short time that we have been open, we have received some great awards for making our campers happy. It’s because we believe that camping with the family is one of the best ways to make memories that will last a lifetime. When we are doing something that we love to do, like running a campground in the Smoky Mountains, it’s not really a job. It’s what we enjoy doing.
In 2012, we were one of nine campgrounds in the nation to win the “A” rating for the last five years in a row.
In 2011, we were one of twelve campgrounds in the nation to win the “A” rating four years in a row.
In 2010, we were one of thirteen campgrounds in the nation to win the “A” rating three years in a row.

We love camping at Misty River! Being from Maryville and needing a place to camp and still be close enough to be with family was a must. We have stayed other places on the Knoxville side of Maryville, but when we found Misty River, there was no more looking. Not only are they very people friendly, but also pet friendly! Everything is very clean, easy assess to the campground, and easy in and out of sites. Quiet and restful days and nights, but there are activities and special events to attend if you wish. With the prices of gas these days we find we aren't camping as much, but we still need to visit family often, and Misty River has storage. We can leave the camper here, give the owner a couple days notice and it is ready to go when we get here. Believe me, riding for 7 hours from Raleigh, NC, wat a relief not to have to do as much setup! If you are visiting there is a lot to see and do outside the campground. Smoky Mtn. National Park is only minutes away, Cades Cove, Tuckaleechee Cavers, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. Want to bring your boat? Blount County has plenty water (Lakes) for fishing, swimming, skiing, or cruising on your float boat! White Water Rafting isn't far away if you like a more exciting adventure... and for the Motorcycle lovers "The Snake", world known S curves people come from around the world to drive (featured in National Geographic Magazine)is just very close to Walland! WE LOVE MISTY RIVER and all there is to do when you get here! And... if you just want to "Veg Out", this is the right for you!

FIREWOOD QUARANTINE: Firewood from a number of states, including two counties of Tennessee and two Canadian Provinces is quarantined due to an insect infestation by one or more insect pests (e.g. the Emerald Ash Borer) that is devastating certain tree species. Please help protect our forests from these destructive pests and do not bring firewood into the Park from the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin as well as Knox and Loudon counties in Tennessee and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
