The Fall Vintage Rally in the Smokies was a big hit!

Click HERE to check out all of the cool vintage campers.

This PUP camper was towed in by the VW Bug and is the smallest camper we have had in the park so far.

What a blast we had at the fall vintage camper rally! Each time we host one at Misty River Campground, it's a treat that the entire staff looks forward to. Not only do we get to see a lot of really cool vintage campers, but we also meet some of the nicest, most fun-loving people you would ever want to know.

There were a few who were at the spring rally back in May, and many newcomers. When you're hanging out with them, you feel like you're with family. We hope to see all of them again.

Vintage Camper Spring Rally in the Smokies 2010, will be held the weekend after Mother’s Day. May 14 & 15, 2010. Come join in all of the fun.  We know the Vintage Rally in the Smokies will continue to grow and become an event that everyone will look forward to attending every spring and fall for years to come, so make your reservations early!

  Join us Thanksgiving Day

Dinner will be served in the Club House from 4:00 to 6:00.

On Thanksgiving day we will be serving dinner in the Club House from 4-6 PM.   We will provide Smoked Turkey, right out of the smoker. All you have to do is bring a covered dish.  Please let us know, if you will be joining our family dinner by Monday, November 23th, so we will know how much turkey to prepare.   It's just like going to Grandma’s house for the holiday.

National Park Service constructs outhouse in Pennsylvania for $1 milllion of your dollars!

(And we thought we had a nice bathrooms. )

NEWARK , N.J. -- Talk about flushing tax money down the toilet: The National Park Service has built a single-seat outhouse in Pennsylvania for $1 million.

Here's how that did it: Import slate from Vermont and put it together with custom stonework. Plant flowers with seed that cost $700 a pound. To make the place snazzy, add windows and a porch. Use paint that cost $78 per gallion. Extragant as all that is, it's still just a fraction of the cost.

More than a dozen Park Service engineers and two architects designed the palatial privy for roughly $100,000. A supervisor, flown in from Denver , lived onsite for a year to oversee construction of the lush latrine. Cost of the outhouse overlord: $80,000.

Toss in union-like construction wages, costly approvals and inspections and lots of red tape from our own government -- to make sure the lavish lavatory is up to code -- and the price exceeds $1 million, according to an ABC News report.

This isn't the first seven-figure commode the government has built. There's another in Montana . At least that one has four seats.  SOURCE: Star-Ledger
